Random Tidbit

Discovered in a book, from the Gaelic, addressed to a guardian angel; I found it very moving.

Be thou a bright flame before me,
Be thou a guiding star above me,
Be thou a smooth path below me,
And be ever a kindly shepherd beside me,
Today, tomorrow and forever.

Thank you.

It's short, sweet and just brilliant.

Hi Ann,

Just found your blog and was reading about Margret. It's funny how, despite the incredible pain of loss, we still feel priviledged to have had that special person in our lives isn't it.

My son died at 14 weeks from his heart problems and it will be 20 years ago this year, but it still hurts and I still look at his siblings and wonder what he would have been like. Yet despite how hard those few weeks were, I wouldn't change it if I could go back - only for him to live not the DS.

He changed my life and as a result I have been priviledged to know and meet many amazing people including Karen Gaffney, Chris Burke and Suj Desai as well as hundreds of others whose names may never be well known.

I'm sure Margret is proud of the way you are coping without her and she knows how much you miss her being there. Be kind to yourself and hang on to those wonderful memories.

That is so very very true. I imagine your son would have been as amazing as a grownup as I think Margret was. *hugs* Her sisters have mentioned how much they appreciated the lessons they learned from having her in their life.

Time will bring distance from the pain, I am sure, but it sure hurts a lot right now.
